Yeah, well...I've been busy

It's been a while since my last post.  There's been a lot going on and I've been fitting in some crafting as time allows...remember my hat from below?  Three sleeps and a nap...well, I've got it down to mostly one sleep with a part of a second. It's amazing what practice can do...

...and that's not all of them (there are three more).  Oh, and when I say practice, I mean practice; I haven't perfected it yet.  Not one of them is alike...size, shape, pattern, etc. They're all different, not that you would be able to tell from the photo.  I'm still working on my preferences for yarn, hook and pattern itself.  I'll have a lot of heads covered soon. ;o)

I've been working on more holiday decor as well...

Tom and his buddy, Tom,  are waiting on some hat bands but are close to being ready...

And then there's Tom, Tom, Tom...well, you get the picture-these will be magnets soon...

These two don't look like much yet but I hope they look like pilgrims when I'm done with them...

More pumpkins anyone?  These are waiting on a few final touches too.

So, with all of the "coming soon," and final touches that need to be added, you may be wondering what is actually finished.  I'm happy to show you-it's what will be greeting me as I come in the door tomorrow to start my new job as stay-at-home mom:

I feel good about it already...

Three sleeps and a nap...

Coop has been having a rough time lately when it comes to sleeping.  He's apparently met the boogie-man and doesn't like him much.  I've found that if I leave the door open and sit outside his room in the hall, he has a much easier time falling and staying asleep.  What's a mom to do while sitting outside a bedroom door on the floor?  Crochet a beanie, baby!  Here's the one that took me two sleeps and a nap to make.  It was looking a little manly (it's supposed to actually).  I wanted to wear it though, so I prettied it up.  Whatcha think?

If Coop keeps this up I'll have the whole family beanied for the winter.  ;o)

Making Buttons

For as long as I've known her, my mother in law has used the expression, "...making buttons."  It means she's nervous or worried about something.  I've always thought it was a really cute way to express her concern. I love my mother in law dearly and hate for her to worry.  And thus, I have a tin of buttons just for her so that she doesn't have to make them anymore. I think a tin full is plenty and I still have a bunch of buttons left over.  Here's what I've been doing with the extras...barrette anyone?

happy hands make a happy heart...

Well, had a conversation yesterday that weighed me down.  Who did I turn to?  My craft table...buttons, barrettes, bows, paints, brushes and yes--my glue gun.  They never let me down.  They are just there to make me happy.  I am happy when I'm sitting there thinking about what new bobble I can create. By the time I leave my table, the weight has lifted and life is well again. Here are a few of my happy heart creations...
